Venice in Macau
I stayed at a really amazing hotel which opened for the public only on 28th August 2007, less than 5 weeks old (when I stayed). That is the Venetian Macao Resort Hotel in Macau, Special Administrative Region of China.
On the boat in the Venetian waters of Venetian Macao Resort Hotel, Macau
They are all looking down at me, or my boat ! This is the turning point for the boat, so I am sure there is no other boat in the vicinity !
Our Boatkeeper ! He comes from a place 100 miles from Venice ! Yes, from Italy !!
The beautiful visage of the building surrounding the Venetian Canal - this is called “Grand Canal Shopping”…….
The ornate entrance to the Casino Hall of the Venetian Macao Resort Hotel
At the Lobby of the Hotel. Just amazingly lavish.
Amazing portraits on the ceilings - they don’t allow photography, so you have to steal the appropriate moments.
The cavernous meeting halls at the Convention Centre of the Hotel.
More photos of Macau later…..

Hello Vijay,
I just noticed that you were from Singapore, I had a 1966 High School Classmate from Doon School in India, Sunil Srinivasan who worked for Citicorp, unfortunately he passed away last year. I was very much saddened to hear of his death, I thought may be you may have known him as your last name is the Same.

Hi Bob,
Thanks for your comments at my blogsite.
Answers to your queries - The Venetian Macao Resort comes in at a little less than USD 200 per night……there are many kinds of deals available on the internet booking sites if you search…….one thing I found out is that the concierge will be able to get a rate better than whatever rate you can get elsewhere…..the hotel obviously expects you to stay several nights and gamble your money away, so they are not averse to giving you a good room deal…..! You would enjoy the stay ofcourse, every room is a 2-level suite !!
Srinivasan is a common surname in South India - it is not actually a surname, nor is it a family name unlike in the West or even in North India. Not all Srinivasans belong to the same family tree. Yes I have heard of a Sunil Srinivasan who was Head of Citibank Singapore and Malaysia before that. Sorry to hear the news.
Regards
Vijay
