“The Power of an Example”

Those of you who still haven’t taken the trouble to tune into You Tube or MSNBC and listen to the full speech of President Bill Clinton (and, ofcourse Barack Obama) are strongly encouraged to do so rightaway. Bill Clinton’s speech is a powerful example of persuasive and impactful communication to a large audience. He used powerful language, rarely ever looked at his script, and was successful in establishing an emotional and strong connection with the audience.

Please see him on You Tube : “BILL CLINTON DEMOCRATIC NATIONAL CONVENTION SPEECH DENVER”

Powerful Speech from a Powerful Orator and a Powerful Politician !

He said that “……..people the world over have always been more impressed by the power of our example, than by the example of our power”. “What about the unlimited favours to the well connected”, “what about Katrina and cronyism”, “America can do better than that”, “Barack Obama can do better than that”.

Many such strong statements with a powerful endorsement of Barack Obama, would surely help the Democratic Party this time around, I guess.

However, I have not changed my views – please see my “Commentary on American Politics”

Republican Party, the G.O.P., is still a better bet for India. But history could rewrite American Politics by electing the first African-American to President on 4th November 2008.

Let us wait and watch the unfolding events and debates of the next couple of months !

Have a great weekend ahead,

Cheers,
